What's on the Grill?

The new school year bliss has finally settled and the grind of school work is in the front of our minds. However, always in the front of my mind is food. My whole day revolves around my eating schedule. I rarely turn down anyone’s offer to share food with me (that is if it’s vegetarian). How can I fuel my brain for the endless hours of reading I have ahead of me each night? Think about it, having meals with your friends is one of the only times you can socialize outside of the classroom during the week. The crazy rush on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:40-12:40 is NOT going away,. its It’s inevitable but hey, everybody’s gotta eat. “What should I order?” I is the first thing I hear when everyone hovers around the small pencils and pads of paper in T the Pub. There are so many choices…but are there?

It is a common complaint of most college students that the food gets boring at school because they eat the same things day in and day out. After two years of the same rotation of food between Dana and T the Pub with the occasional feast at Newell thrown in, I have found ways to spice up my food (literally) so I do not get too bored with hummus sandwiches and peanut butter and jelly. I’m always looking at other people’s sandwich combinations and am amazed by the amount of carbohydrates one can pile onto their plate at Dana.  So, it is my hope that through this article, that I can lure other SLU foodies to reveal their favorite concoctions for the rest of us to try. What are my favorite staples you might ask? For breakfast, classic two eggs over medium with 12-grain toast. Add hot sauce and salt to the eggs and you can never go wrong. For lunch, hummus sandwich on pita bread with spinach, cucumbers, sprouts and banana peppers. If there are Mesquite Barbeque chips in T the Pub I cannot turn them down and they go great with my sandwich. Also, Y yogurt P parfaits are the best invention T the Pub has ever had. Any time of day, any meal, they’re a great starter or finisher. Totally worth the price and way healthier than a cup of dirt.

I hope I made you all salivate and eager to go try something new at T the Pub. Share with me your favorite go-to. I’m curious to know what you crave from and if the Dr. Feel Good Feelgood actually makes your feel good.
