Float to branch tips
dragonflies up from the river bank.
Hidden chirp songs in a thicket
and cricket leg scratch symphony.
Scream cicada at wax wing appetite
or frog flash tongue cur plunk splash.
Wind hum rumble to far off thunder
Where bee drink frantic spider bend grass bow
to the river below.
Bug, trout, mink, bear; cycle a go
Trunks down from wind blow
Home unknown—
Though etched is my bone,
hexed by what nature has shown
for I know never
will I be alone.
